Welcome! It is great to see you have taken the time to visit my page. My name is Natalija Galens. I grew up on a blueberry and cranberry farm here in Michigan before moving to western Pennsylvania to attend Grove City College. While studying at Grove City, I played both volleyball and basketball and earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. After graduating in 2016, I returned home and quickly began working in the St. Joseph Public Schools district. My roles at SJPS have included long-term substitute teaching at Upton, coaching 7th grade volleyball, and coaching freshman girls' basketball. Currently, I have the privilege of teaching 5th grade at E. P. Clarke Elementary. I enjoy traveling, devouring ice cream, and playing volleyball at Silver Beach.
It is my teaching philosophy that each student has unique strengths and talents, and that ALL students can and will learn. When students enter my classroom, they are valued for "being" not just for "being good". My promise is to provide a safe and welcoming environment while striving to prepare every student to become a lifelong, independent learner. I am eager to work with your child and partner with you to make his or her journey in 5th grade fulfilling and academically challenging. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email or call. Thank you!
