About Me
Special Education Teacher
EP Clarke Elementary

Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to explore my page and get to know me more. My name is Natalija Galens. I grew up on a blueberry and cranberry farm here in Michigan before moving to western Pennsylvania to attend Grove City College. While studying at Grove City, I played both volleyball and basketball and earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. After graduating in 2016, I returned home and quickly began working in the St. Joseph Public School District. Since then, I have had the privilege of long-term subbing at Upton Middle School, coaching basketball and volleyball, and teaching 5th grade. Currently, I am the K-5 Resource Room Teacher at E. P. Clarke Elementary. I enjoy traveling, eating ice cream, and playing volleyball at Silver Beach.

It is my teaching philosophy that each student has unique strengths and talents, and that ALL students can and will learn. When students enter my classroom, they are valued for just being themselves. My promise is to provide a safe and welcoming environment while striving to prepare every student to become a lifelong, independent learner. I am eager to work with your child and partner with you to make his or her journey at Clarke fulfilling and academically challenging. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email or call. You can also see what's happening in my classroom at Thank you!

Summer Food Service Program

Welcome to the Michigan Department of Education’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) site locator. The SFSP was created to ensure that children in lower-income areas could continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs. Use the SFSP site locator to find a SFSP site near you
