I am so happy you are here! I'm a part of the Family and Consumer Science department and teach diverse classes from Child Development, Girl's Health, Foods and Nutrition, to 6th grade Life Management. I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be at Upton Middle School and SJHS. Being at both schools allows me to watch your children grow as they move on from Upton, and to the high school level. FCS classes provide a hands-on learning environment where students learn skills they can use beyond the classroom.
I grew up in the Metro Detroit area where I worked at a local ice cream shop and babysat children from all over the neighborhood. I graduated from Western Michigan University in Family and Consumer Sciences as well as Secondary Health Education. Working with children has always been a passion of mine as I taught Pre-K for 4 years previously. In my free time I enjoy cooking and baking as well as doing anything outside, such as hiking and camping.
Come see all of the awesome things students are doing by following our class page on Facebook called "Fresh Sprouts" or "StJoeFCS" on instagram!
