The ’17—’18 year is my eleventh school year here in St. Joe and I love it here! I taught in a part-time position at Upton Middle School for the second half of the '06--'07 year and was then fortunate enough to be brought on full-time to the high school the following year. At the high school, I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Forensics, Geology, Environmental Science and Topics in Science. I have completely fallen in love with this area and am proud to call St. Joe my home!
I am originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Iron River) and moved down to Grand Rapids for school at Grand Valley State University. I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Grand Valley with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, as well as my Michigan Teacher’s Certification. I also have completed my Master's of Science Degree in Teaching Geosciences from Mississippi State University.
I married my beautiful wife, Maddie, this past July in Berrien Springs! We had a fantastic time with all of our family and friends and couldn't feel more blessed for the support! Maddie is a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary in Lakeshore, so we will have a friendly rivalry going on! I also have a golden retriever, Bella, who is just a goofball and a cat, Clarke, who is snow white and hilarious!
My daily schedule is below for your convenience. Along with this, I am coaching Girl’s Track at Upton this spring and am really enjoying being able to work with the kids on this type of level as well!
