Subject: Family Consumer Scie

Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Villa Maria college in Erie Pennsylvania. I am certified in Family and Consumer Science (KH) K-12, and vocational tech (VH) K-12.
I attended Western Michigan University to become certified and highly qualified to teach in Michigan. I began my teaching career teaching Foods and Nutrition and Sewing in Cleveland, Ohio. After a year 1/2
I retired from the classroom to stay home with my five children and continued to cook, bake and sew for 17 years. We then moved to Michigan and I began to substitute teach. I subbed in the St. Joseph district for 17 years. I was hired as a Life Management Teacher and I have enjoyed teaching your children for the last 8 years. I teach Child Study, Child Care and Parenting, Contemporary Living, Sewing and one class of Foods and Nutrition at Upton.
This past summer I took a reading and writing class at Western Michigan to keep my certificate current and I found a wealth of new ways to make our children use their minds. We write , read and do critical thinking everyday. St. Joseph is a great school and we have some wonderful students who make my every day very special. They learn and they keep me learning and it is done without either of us knowing that we are really doing what school is suppose to do, keep our minds open and thirsty.
