Hello and thank you for visiting my webpage. I am counselor for
students with last names starting with A - G, in grades 9 - 12 and this is my sixth year as a school counselor at SJHS. Working with the students is the very best part of my job, and I look forward to getting to know you and your student.
I received my bachelor degree from Miami University in Ohio with a major in Public Administration and Constitutional Law. After staying home with my children when they were young, I returned to school in 2001 and graduated with a masters degree from Western Michigan University in School Counseling in the fall of 2004. When I talk to students about after high school planning, I can definitely use myself as an example of someone who started out with one plan and through a number of life events, has taken a very different path. (See the quote at the bottom of the page.)
Although I grew up in Evansville, Indiana, my husband, Gregg, and I moved to St. Joseph in 1993 and have raised our three children here. Our oldest son, Ethan, graduated from SJHS in 2008 and is attending DePauw University in Indiana. Johnny is a freshman at Central Michigan University, and Melanie is currently a junior at SJHS. We are definitely a proud Bear family!
I am passionate about teenagers and appreciate all the aspects of my job that allow me to connect with them about what's important to them today as well as in their futures. Please let me know how I can help you and your student.
Office Hours:
