A Little Bit About Mr. Rasbach...
A lifelong native of Southwest Michigan, I'm grateful to be teaching in the St. Joseph Public Schools--it truly is a "Lighthouse District!"
In December 2004, I completed my B.A. in History (Cedarville University, OH). In 2005-2006 I earned my teaching credentials in History, Civics, Psychology, and Sociology through a transition-to-teaching program at Anderson University (IN).
Having taught at SJHS since 2007, I continue to develop my professional practice through local and regional seminars and graduate courses at Western Michigan University.
The best part of my job has to be the students I get to work with--they're AWESOME! I love to hear their perspectives and explore with them the history and ideas that underpin the contemporary world and inform our understanding of who we are as 21st-century Americans.
Outside of school, I enjoy music, movies, camping, water sports, and travel. Highlights of this past summer included a week with St. Joe and Lakeshore students at Young Life's Castaway Club (MN) and a 10-day road trip that featured rafting parts of the Snake River and hiking/backpacking/camping Wyoming's incredible Gros Ventre Wilderness, Caribou-Targhee National Forest, and Grand Teton National Park!
I'm looking forward to a GREAT year of teaching/learning!!! |
