“I think I’d give almost anything on earth to see you writing a something, an

anything, a story, a poem, a tree, that was really and truly

after your own heart.”

-Seymour from J.D. Salinger’s Seymour: An Introduction

Hello,

Welcome! T
hank you for taking the time to visit my space on the St. Joseph High School web site.
I teach English 10, Honors English 10, and AP Literature & Composition.  Before joining the SJHS team, I taught at Western Michigan University as a graduate assistant and at Coldwater High School. I earned my teaching degree and B.A. (in English and History) from Alma College and my M.A. (in the teaching of English) from Western Michigan University. Recently, I earned my Library Media endorsement from Grand Valley State University. This is my sixth year teaching at St. Joseph High School, and I believe that every day here at SJHS is rewarding.

Additionally, I have participated in WMU's Third Coast Writing Project as a fellow in the Invitational Summer Institute and, later, as a graduate assistant.  Passionate about teaching and learning, I hope to share my love of reading and writing with my students.

This year I am co-advising the Junior Class, helping to plan Prom.  I also have a little boy and am enjoying being a new mom.

If you would like to contact me, my schedule and contact information is listed here. I am available both before and after school for phone calls and student conferences

Thank You,
Jamie L. Culver
